ReServe Program Design

ReServe’s seeks to serve older adults by placing them in part-time positions in nonprofit and city organizations throughout New York. The unusual aspect of the jobs is that they carry a stipend, fixed at ten dollars per hour. We believe that the stipend encourages both the ReServist and the Partner Organization to take the placement more seriously and to fully utilize the ReServist’s skills during the course of the placement.

When you apply to ReServe, your application will be reviewed and entered into our database. Once we have initially processed your application, you will receive your personal access information for our Opportunity Board, where you can look through our available opportunities and notify us of your interest. In addition, our Program Officers will have your name and information in our database as they try to fill those same positions. Once we think we have a potential match, we’ll bring you in for an interview and then pass you along to a Partner Organization.

Please note that we do have more potential ReServists than available opportunities. As much as we’d like to, we can’t accommodate everyone, but we work our hardest to make the best possible matches!
