GIVE BACK, FILL THE GAPGive Back, Fill the Gap opportunities require demonstrated experience with specific skill sets. Opportunities can be short-term or ongoing. Most ReServists in these positions work 10-20 hours a week in neighborhoods throughout the city. They work in grass roots start-ups, nonprofits, arts organizations, local colleges and government agencies that need special projects. They field hotline phone calls, serve as office assistants, teach financial literacy and GED prep, install new software systems, and care for toddlers while their parents apply for food stamps. They write annual reports, newsletters, training curricula and website copy. And they tackle hundreds of other critical assignments that would otherwise not get done. Assignments are as varied as the needs of our partner agencies and the skills and interests of available ReServists. |
