CLAIRE HAAGA ALTMAN, Executive Director

Claire Altman became ReServe’s Executive Director in mid-2006, after two decades of work in the affordable housing field as the founder and President of Housing and Services, Inc. (HSI). Prior to her work in housing, Claire served as associate director of the Vera Institute of Justice, where she designed, managed, and obtained financing for a variety of employment and human service projects. She also founded the Highbridge-Woodycrest Extended Care Network, a non-profit health network that includes a residential health care facility for persons living with AIDS, the Olive Leaf Wholeness Center, an integrated health center, and Woodycrest House, a residence for families with HIV and AIDS. Claire has a J.D. from Fordham University, a M.P.A. from New York University and a B.A. from St. Louis University.
SUSAN MACEACHRON, Deputy Director

Susan MacEachron joined ReServe after working in the financial services sector for JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup. Her career as a lawyer and banker included working with financial products and managing corporate tax matters. Susan’s most recent position was the chief financial officer for the JPMorgan global Marketing and Communication group, and treasurer of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, which annually makes grants of $100 million. She received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and a B.A. from Brandeis University. She serves on the board of Concert Artists Guild.
IOWAKA BARBER, Program Officer

Iowaka Barber joined ReServe after working as the associate director of development and communications at the East Harlem Tutorial Program. Her diverse background in the private and nonprofit sectors includes serving as deputy director of communications at the Open Society Institute, manager at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and senior placement coordinator of the international Fulbright scholarship program at the Institute of International Education. She served as an adjunct faculty member for eight years in the digital media and communications design program at Parsons School of Design and has extensive training in institutional racism and leadership development. Iowaka received a M.S. in communications design from Pratt Institute and a certificate in multi-media technologies from New York University, and her B.A. from Meredith College. She is also a 2007 recipient of a United Way Senior Fellowship and is currently participating in an M.P.A. program at Baruch.
ANNA COLLINS, Program Officer

Anna Collins joined ReServe after living in Washington, DC, where she worked as a program officer with Meridian International Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of international understanding. She worked to create professional development programs for foreign delegations participating in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program. Anna has a background in publishing, including serving as promotion director for a magazine produced by the Embassy of France. She received a B.A. in English literature from the University of the South in Tennessee
JESS GEEVARGHESE, Program Officer

Jess Geevarghese joined ReServe after completing an M.B.A. and M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis. During school, she worked in San Francisco with Rubicon Landscape Services, a $4 million social enterprise focused on commercial landscape maintenance and installation, whose net revenues are reinvested into Rubicon Programs to provide social services for the Bay Area’s homeless and disabled populations. Jess designed and implemented marketing strategies to build awareness in high-growth customer segments. Prior to this, Jess worked at Manning, Selvage and Lee, a corporate public relations agency, on the global health team developing public relations programs for pharmaceuticals and biotechnology firms. Jess has a B.S.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
LAUREN BALTHROP, Communications Associate

Lauren joined ReServe after living abroad in France where she taught English. She graduated from Florida State University in 2006 with a B.A. in French and Theatre. She is working with ReServe while pursuing a career in music and theatre. Lauren performs regularly in New York City venues with her band, Balthrop Alabama.
STEPHEN GIKOW, Program Associate

Stephen graduated from Yale in 2006 with a B.A. in Italian and went to work as a paralegal for the NY County District Attorney's Office. He joined ReServe in 2007 as a part-time writer of online content and has since moved into a more full-time position as Program Associate. Stephen will be attending law school at Yale in the fall.
LAURIE HYMAN, Health Navigator Coordinator

Laurie Hyman has extensive experience in healthcare and care-giving, including time spent as a hot-line volunteer counselor at the Medicare Right Center and a patient advocate at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Prior to working in healthcare, she was in the entertainment industry, where she was involved in film, television, video, and music. She holds a certificate in gerontology from Marymount Manhattan College.
Thai Jason, ReServist Relations and ReServist

Thai Jason followed a 12 year career on stage, television and in commercials by 26 years as production manager for Crushing Music in New York. After retiring, she earned a Certificate in Fundraising from New York University, and as a volunteer, Thai has raised thousands of dollars to support orphans through the Tibet Poverty Alleviation Fund. She received a B.F.A. from Boston University.
Judy Norton, Human Resources director and ReServist

Judy Norton was a human resources executive at JPMorgan Chase for over 30 years, and most recently Human Resources Director of R.H. Donnelley. She joined ReServe after being retired for several years. Judy received her M.A. from West Virginia University and her B.A. from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She serves on the board of Nazareth Housing.
Irma Smith, Administrative Assistant and ReServist

Irma Smith worked at Verizon for 32 years in a variety of capacities ranging from international operator services to administrative assistant. After four years in retirement, she joined ReServe. She also works as a volunteer at a food pantry managing its budget and inventory.
Pat Scott, Payroll Specialist and ReServist

Patricia worked for Services for the Underserved as the human resources director, then as the payroll director. She currently volunteers for Light and Love Productions as their accounting manager/business partner.
